'Mbappe hat-trick' France 'bombed' Gibraltar 14-0 in Euro Qualifier

France, led by captain Kylian Mbappe, scored as many as 14 goals against underdog Gibraltar in the 2024 European Championship (Euro 2024) qualifying round.

France beat Gibraltar 14-0 in their ninth Group B match of the Euro 2024 qualifying round at the Allianz Riviera in Nice, France, on the 19th.

Gibraltar, which is already far behind in its power, suffered a numerical inferiority when Ethan Santos was sent off in the 18th minute of the first half and suffered a 14-goal defeat.

France has won seven consecutive qualifying matches, while Gibraltar has lost seven in a row.

France led by Santos' own goal in the first three minutes, and scored seven goals in the first half alone, with back-to-back goals from Marcus Turban, Warren Zaire-Emery, Mbappe and Jonatang Claus. 스포츠토토

Even in the second half, France had no mercy.

Starting with Adrien Rabiot's scoring, Kingsley Coman, Usman Dembele and Mbappe continued to score goals, making it 10-0 and four more.

Olivier Giroud scored two more goals in the 44th minute of the second half and the extra time of the second half, setting a record of 14-0. This is the new A-match goal record for the French national team, going beyond a 10-0 win over Azerbaijan in 1995.

Lee Kang-in's Paris Saint-Germain teammate, midfielder Zaire-Emery born in 2006, made his A-match debut on the same day and even scored in the 16th minute of the first half.

At 17 years, 8 months and 11 days, Jair Emery was named the youngest player in the French national team since 1914. The youngest ever participant in the French national team was Julien Verbruhe, 16 years and 309 days in 1906.

However, Jair Emery was knocked down by the opponent's rough tackle in the scoring scene and was replaced by Yusuf Fofana in the 20th minute of the first half due to injury and could not smile brightly.
